Frequently Asked Questions
How many PDFs can I merge?
Practically unlimited! Tested with 50+ files. Very large numbers may slow browser. Best to keep under 100 PDFs per merge.
Is quality preserved?
Yes! pdf-lib preserves original quality. No compression, no image degradation, no text conversion. Merged PDF is identical to original pages.
Can I reorder before merging?
Currently maintains upload order. Remove files (X button) and re-add in desired order to reorder. Future updates may add drag-and-drop.
Max file size?
No hard limit. Browser memory is the constraint. Very large PDFs (100MB+) may slow processing. Individual files up to 200MB typically work.
Encrypted PDFs?
Password-protected PDFs may fail to merge. Remove passwords first using PDF unlocker tools. Standard non-encrypted PDFs merge without issues.
Are original PDFs modified?
No! Original files stay untouched on your device. Only a new merged PDF is created for download. Safe for original documents.
